Simplon tunnel renovation 03.02.–27.07.2025
SBB is renovating the Simplon Tunnel between Brig and Iselle from 2025 to 2030. The renovation work includes the tunnel vault and the carriageway in the tunnel. The construction work will affect the BLS car transport service between Brig and Iselle.
From 3 February to 27 July 2025, car loading trains will run at 120-minute intervals instead of the usual 90-minute intervals. From August until the end of 2025, the construction work will be suspended so that the normal 90-minute or 60-minute frequency at weekends can be offered again.
