Relaxed travel through the Lötschberg Tunnel

Minibuses (up to 22 seats), mobile homes and lorries (up to 28 tonnes) can be transported through Lötschberg in comfort using the car transport service. This saves you time and allows you to enjoy a 15-minute break from driving.

Large-capacity vehicles need larger transport carriers. A separate timetable applies to them, with hourly connections to Kandersteg and Goppenstein. Large-capacity vehicles are not permitted between Brig and Iselle.

Weight restriction of 20 tonnes for access to the Kandersteg car transport service

Two bridges after the Kandersteg exit in the direction of the car transport no longer meet the current, stricter standards, which is why a weight restriction of 20 tonnes has been introduced since 25.10.2023. In exceptional cases, vehicles over 20 tonnes can access and leave the Kandersteg car transport via the subway (height restriction, 3.40m) BLS workshop via Risetistrasse.
