Snowshoe trail

Schneeschuhtrail «Höh-Tour»

This circular trail starts out along the River Kander towards the weir/Bern. Now the trail ascends into the Höhwald forest. After climbing 140 metres, you can – if you so wish – divert to the Risetenegg vantage point. Here a splendid view out onto the entire village of Kandersteg and the Blümlisalp massif awaits you. Now follows the short descent back into the village. You leave the Höhwald behind and eventually return towards the train station.

Winter walks

Winter walking trail Filfalle

On this winter walk you will experience the peaceful nature and surroundings of Kandersteg. The route briefly follows the railway line and continues along the idyllic Kander river to the International Scout Centre. You reach Eggeschwand (valley station of the Sunnbüel cable car) via the newly built winter walking trail across the meadow. There you cross the main road and walk into the beautiful "Filfalle" area. Here you are in the middle of the popular 5 km cross-country ski trail and can experience the excitement of Nordic skiing up close.
