RBDe 566II – commuter train with railcar
RBDe 566II commuter trains have been moving passengers for more than 40 years.
These trains usually operate with a low-floor “Jumbo” intermediate carriage that enables ground-level entry and exit. The commuter trains have a top speed of 125 km/h. Depending on the arrangement used, they can offer seating for between 191 and 387 passengers. In addition, up to three commuter trains can be linked to seat a maximum of 573 to 1,161 passengers.
In the course of 2023, the use of these vehicles will be successively reduced. From the timetable change in 2024, they will probably no longer be in scheduled service.
