Christmas market and Advent village in Olten

From 29 November to 21 December 2025, the town center of Olten transforms under festive Christmas lights into a charming Advent village, combining the Christmas market and Advent magic.

Over 60 lovingly decorated chalets offer a diverse pre-Christmas selection – with exhibitors changing daily and weekly, showcasing handmade goods and seasonal treats. A central event square invites you to enjoy an entertaining supporting program.

Travel comfortably with BLS to Olten. The town center is about a 10-minute walk from the train station.

Highlights

A special experience is Flying Santa, who flies high above Kirchgasse into the Advent village every day, amazing young and old alike. A wide range of culinary delights are provided by various restaurants – from the two chalets Alpenland and Aaria Stadle to the festive mulled wine pyramid and numerous food stands.

There is also plenty for children to discover: an atmospheric Christmas carousel, a 107-meter-long toboggan run, an artificial ice rink, candle making, a Christmas bakery, the lovingly designed Santa's cottage – and, of course, the Advent village train, which takes young guests on a ride through the festively decorated surroundings.

In addition to the activities, exciting vendors tempt visitors with handmade gift ideas, artistic decorations, and original Christmas items that invite them to browse and discover.

From the enchanting Wish Forest to the cozy Santa Bar and the Advent Village Lounge, the Advent Village offers a diverse program of Christmas experiences for the whole family.
