Centre Albert Anker
Visitors’ Reception and Permanent Exhibition
The visitors’ reception is situated in the former threshing area of the Anker house. This is also the starting point to begin your experience of Albert Anker. The permanent exhibition is the focal point of the centre. It is spread over two levels and presents the artist’s life and impact from fifteen vantage points. It is bilingual, self-explanatory, includes audiovisual support, and can be visited throughout the year without a guided tour.
Historic Residential Building and Authentic Artist’s Studio
By viewing the house with a guided tour, visitors learn about the traditional, middle-class cultural background of the Anker family. The building is fitted out chiefly with the original furnishings. The highlight is the unique and practically unchanged studio in the attic. The painter’s workspace can be viewed in small groups as part of a guided tour.
Art Pavilion and Special Exhibitions
The Art Pavilion is where the original works of the foundation collection are conserved and also the location for special exhibitions. Presenting works of the collection and supplementary loans, they explore the topics of the permanent exhibition in more depth.
