Diemtigtal Nature Park cross-country trail
The 22-kilometre cross-country ski trail leads through snow-covered forests, along icy mountain streams and across deeply snow-covered meadows between Schwenden and Zwischenflüh. The route is prepared for both classic and skating styles and offers varied circuits in the Diemtigtal Nature Park.
Cross-country skiing between Grimmialp and Zwischenflüh
An ideal starting point is located by the old schoolhouse near the PostBus stop «Schwenden i.D., Fildrichbrücke». Changing rooms and toilets are available there, and drinks can also be purchased. Cross-country skiing equipment can be rented from local sports shops. Anyone wishing to learn cross-country skiing from scratch can book private lessons.
The starting point is easily accessible by train and PostBus.
Our well-developed network of cross-country skiing trails is nestled between Zwischenflüh and Schwenden. Depending on the weather, up to 22 km of classic and skating trails are prepared. The trails are very varied:
Wiriehorn Trail:
Slight slope and flat valley floor
Tiermatti Trail:
After a solid ascent from Anger, mostly loops and straight passages on sunny and easy terrain
Grimmimutz Trail:
Our most challenging terrain in terms of physical condition and technique required, but very scenic leading past the Blauseeli and the Würziwald
Equipment hire
You can hire the equipment for your cross-country ski excursion in the two sports stores of Stucki Sport (Wiriehornbahnen valley station, classic only) and Erb Sport (Grimmialpbergbahnen valley station).

Travel relaxed by train to Oey-Diemtigen. From there, the Postbus will carry you to the «Schwenden i.D., Fildrichbrücke» stop.
