Gurten in winter
Winter fun on Bern’s ‘local mountain’
An excursion to the Gurten is always rewarding. However, it is particularly good fun in the snow – in Switzerland’s smallest ski resort. When there is sufficient snow, the children’s lift and toboggan run are open each day. Even last-minute visitors to the Gurten don’t have to miss out on the fun: skis, poles, ski boots and wooden toboggans can be hired on site. If, despite all the winter sport, the cold still manages to penetrate your down jacket, you can warm up in the two restaurants in the Kulm building.
Travel comfortably by train to Wabern b. Bern. The Gurtenbahn is just a few steps away.
Gurten – a paradise for hikers

The Gurten offers a varied network of hiking and walking trails in a quiet, car-free environment and delights visitors of all ages with a large adventure playground for children and a wide range of leisure activities. Skis, poles and boots can be hired in the container at the children ski lift.

Traditional wooden sledges can be hired from the mountain station of the Gurtenbahn funicular railway.
