Allmenalp, magnificent vantage point above Kandersteg

Get to know the cosy side of the mountain summer

On a spectacular ride, the cable car takes you from Kandersteg to the untouched nature of Allmenalp in just five minutes. A truly breathtaking mountain panorama awaits you here with views of the Blüemlisalp and Lake Oeschinen.

From June to September, you can make yourself comfortable on the sun terrace of the Allmen-Beizli and enjoy regional specialities from the alpine kitchen. You also have the opportunity to get a piece of traditionally produced mountain cheese directly from the Älpler family.

The RegioExpress takes you from Bern to Kandersteg in one hour without changing trains. The valley station of the Allmenalpbahn can be reached on foot in around 10 minutes.

The Allmenalp

Thanks to its short distance from Kandersteg and its mountain restaurant right next to the resort, the Allmenalp is the ideal place to spend a relaxing day in the mountains. Whether in perfect summer weather or amidst the play of clouds, the Allmenalp captivates with its calm and authenticity.

Allmenalp cable car

The small cable car floats along the Allmifluh to an altitude of 1725 metres. During the ride, you can watch the visitors on the via ferrata. Impressive views of Kandersteg are also guaranteed before plunging into the Alpine world of the Allmenalp. Discover the jewel of the Kandersteg cable car on your next mountain trip.

Allmen-Beizli mountain restaurant (open from June to September)

The sunny terrace of the Allmen-Beizli invites you to relax. With a direct view of the Blümlisalp massif, Lake Oeschinen and the surrounding Unesco mountains, it's well worth taking a camera and binoculars. Enjoy the hospitality and delicious mountain cuisine of the Reichen family, who have been running the Untere Allmenalp farm for four generations.

Walk on the Allmenalp

You don't feel like a long, steep climb or descent, but you still want to get some exercise? Then we recommend an easy hike from the top station towards Kandersteg. After about 20 to 30 minutes you will reach the "Hellhorn" point, where benches invite you to take a break. The return journey is via the same route.
