Fondue Land Gstaad

The fondue rucksack can be ordered from the dairies during their opening times the day before. Fondue rucksacks can be collected from the Berghaus Wispile during the operating times of the Wispile gondola lift.

The fondue rucksack is available for two or more people.

Included in the price:

• Hire of the complete fondue set
• A choice of a creamy classic fondue or aromatic truffle fondue
• Crunchy fondue bread from the Bäckerei Wehren bakery
• Spices
• Caquelon
• Portable stove with fuel paste
• Plates and forks

A matching wine, such as a light, fruity Chasselas, is available from the dairies.

The outsize fondue caquelons and fondue chalets cannot be reserved. You can find the locations of the giant fondue caquelons here.

The fondue rucksack can be ordered the day before at the following dairies during opening hours: Schönried Dairy, Earlybeck Saanen, Gstaad Dairy, Zweisimmen Dairy.

You can collect the fondue rucksack up to 10.00 hours on Sundays at Schönried Dairy if you order by telephone the day before.

Fondue rucksacks can be collected from the Berghaus Wispile during the operating hours of the Wispile gondola lift. The rucksacks can be returned to the Berghaus or the valley station (up to 16.30 hours); prior booking required on the preceding day.

After your fondue: pack up your waste and return the rucksack to the collection point. Please arrange any returns outside of the opening times with the respective collection point beforehand.

Rinderberg fondue caquelon

Travel comfortably by train to Zweisimmen. From there, continue with the cable car to Rinderberg. The caquelon is located on the hiking trail between the mountain station and the middle station Rinderberg. It is situated right by the ski slope and can be reached with skis.

Schlittmoos fondue caquelon

Travel in comfort by train to Schönried. The caquelon is on Schlittmoosstrasse. Follow the “Fondue Caquelon Schlittmoos” signs from the centre of Schönried village. The walk will take around 15 minutes.

Vorderi Wispile fondue caquelon

Gstaad is easy to reach on the Montreux Oberland Bernois Railway (MOB) with a single change in Zweisimmen. 

From Gstaad railway station, take the number 180 bus towards Les Diablerets, Poste. Alight at Wispile valley station. The cable car will take you to the top of the mountain in around 20 minutes. The caquelon is located around 40 minutes from Wispile mountain station. It can be reached via the Wispile-Chrine-Lake Lauenen and Wispile-Chrine-Gsteig hiking trail in summer, and on the winter hiking and toboggan run towards Gsteig in winter.

Käsegrotte fondue caquelon

Gstaad is easy to reach on the Montreux Oberland Bernois Railway (MOB) with a single change in Zweisimmen. 

Travel by public transport
PostBus line 182 will take you from Gstaad to the stop in Bissenegg. The caquelon is directly above the bus stop.

Travel by foot
Gstaad-Bissen-Turbach hiking trail, walking time approx. 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes

Grossi Vorschess fondue caquelon

Travel in comfort by train to Schönried. It will take approximately 1 hour 15 minutes to reach the caquelon from the centre of the village of Schönried via Hubelstrasse and Bergmatte on the Schönried–Rellerli–Grossi Vorschess–Bergmatte–Schönried hiking trail.
