Then the Niederhorn is the right place for you. High above glistening Lake Thun, modern gastronomy awaits you in a cozy atmosphere.
Travel comfortably by train to Thun or Interlaken West. Continue with the STI bus (from Thun) or PostAuto (from Interlaken) to «Beatenbucht» or «Beatenberg Station». Or take a boat from any dock to «Beatenbucht».
Then, the cogwheel train and group cable car will take you to Niederhorn.
Fondue backpack
Pick up your backpack, set off and enjoy!
Unpack your backpack in the middle of a breathtaking natural landscape, prepare a delicious Swiss cheese fondue and savour it. The adventure begins at the railway ticket office in Beatenberg. The lovingly packed fondue backpack is waiting for you there. Now it's up to you to decide which is the best place on the Niederhorn for you to prepare and enjoy your fondue in the midst of idyllic nature.
The fondue backpack contains the following items:
- Regional fondue mix
- Fondue bread
- Spices
- Picnic blanket
- Caquelon
- Rechaud with windbreak and gas burner
- Fondue crockery and forks
- Lighter
The fondue backpack experience can be booked daily in winter and summer during operating hours. You can pick up the fondue backpack at the railway ticket office in Beatenberg.
Please note that the offer does not include drinks. These can be purchased from the Bärgrestaurant Vorsass.
Return: Please return your backpack to the Bärgrestaurant Vorsass or the railway station in Beatenberg by 17.30 hours at the latest.

Niederhorn brunch
Start your Sunday with a brunch on the Niederhorn. Like breakfast only better. Croissants, bread rolls, fresh bread from Beatenberg, braided butter, jam, honey, butter, meat and cheese platters with delicacies from the region, smoked salmon, crunchy vegetables, yoghurts, cereals, Bircher muesli, fresh fruit salad, egg dishes, cipolata, bacon slices, omelettes, coffee, tea, ovo, chocolate, fruit juices and much more.

Lunch and snacks
The modern, regional menu offers soups prepared with finesse, traditional Swiss dishes such as Bratwurst with Rösti, and delicious burgers too. Of course, there is also delicious cake.

How to get there
