Hiking ticket panorama trail Elsigenalp-Frutigen

The panoramic mountain trail begins at the Elsigenalp mountain station. In an easy descent, the narrow nature trail leads through alpine meadows and forests to the Oberer Achsetberg. Here you can enjoy impressive views of the Frutig-Spissen trench landscape on the Niesen chain on the other side of the valley. The panorama of the Adelboden valley basin opens up on the other side of the valley. You reach Trute via alpine pastures with great views. Here you will find a picnic area with a bonfire site and views of the two mountains Niesen and Niederhorn. Then the trail continues downhill to the village centre of Frutigen and on to the train station.

The Elsigenalp-Frutigen hiking ticket is valid from 26.05.2023 to 22.10.2023 and is available from the BLS Webshop or any BLS travel centre.

• Berghaus Elsigenalp 
  The Berghaus Elsigenalp is located just 250 metres from the top station of the cable car.
• Alpenstrand-Bistro
  The Alpenstrand-Bistro invites you to stay at the Brandsee in nice weather. 5 minutes by foot from the mountain station.
• Alpine hut Oberer Achsetberg     
  Take a break and enjoy local specialties from the small alpine kiosk at the alpine hut. The alp kiosk is open during the alp season. 
• Feuerstelle Trute
  The bonfire site invites you to linger and has a fantastic view.

Taking in the far-reaching views of the flank of a valley on a leisurely hike downhill. That does sound like a tempting plan, doesn’t it? The panorama trail from Elsigenalp to Frutigen offers just that. The mountain hike leads you along little-used paths and across idyllic Alpine meadows over the Achsetberg mountain and down into the valley to Frutigen. Travel conveniently by public transport to Frutigen. Here, you change to the bus that departs directly from the train station. You travel through the Engstligental valley to Achseten Church in 16 minutes. From here, the “on-call” bus will take you conveniently (obligatory +41 33 671 33 33) to the valley station of the Elsigenalp cable car.
