Hike from Riedtwil via Mutzbach Falls to Wynigen
A cool-down is guaranteed on this varied hike for the whole family. The trail leads from the starting point in Riedtwil all along the Mutzbach to the highlight, the 14-metre-high Mutzbach Falls. In the second part of the hike, you leave Mutzgraben and enjoy the idyllic, hilly landscape on the way to Wynigen. Albert Bitzius (Jeremias Gotthelf) was once married to Henriette Zeender in the church with its graceful volute gable tower.
Travel comfortably by train to "Wynigen" or "Herzogenbuchsee" and continue by bus to "Riedtwil, Bahnhof".
Route description
The hike starts in Riedtwil and leads to an old mill and further along the Mutzbach. After 2.3 kilometres, you reach the 14-metre-high waterfall. Now it is time to take a break, enjoy the natural shower, and splash around.
Afterwards, the tour takes you along a stepped path to the other side of the stream. You now climb up the rock face via a few easy ladder steps. You then reach Rüedisbach via a small path through the forest. Here you can enjoy the wonderful view of the surrounding hilly landscape before you reach your destination Wynigen via meadows and along the edge of the forest.

Availability & How to get there
The hiking trail is accessible from 1 April to 31 October.
Travel comfortably by train to Wynigen or Herzogenbuchsee and continue by bus to the stop "Riedtwil, Bahnhof" to the starting point of the hike.
Return by train from Wynigen.
