From the Emmental to the Lake Thun region

Hike from Chuderhüsi, via Würzbrunnen, Röthenbach i.E., Vorder Naters to Süderen

From Chuderhüsi, you first enjoy the magnificent view over the Bernese Alps and then hike leisurely down towards Würzbrunnen, past fragrant meadows and through shady forests. Marvel at the beautiful Würzbrunnen church, which used to be a pilgrimage church and is famous from the Gotthelf films. This beautiful hike in the heart of the Emmental will inspire you too.

Travel comfortably by train to "Signau" and continue with the BLS hiking bus to "Röthenbach i.E., Chuderhüsi".

Route description

Enjoy the beautiful views of the Emmental and the Bernese Alps on this panoramic tour. Magnificent views of the Stockhorn range, the Schrattenfluh and the Hogant make this tour a panoramic show. At the start, the short detour to the Chuderhüsi tower is worthwhile to get an initial overview of the landscape. The trail leads down to Röthenbach via Würzbrunnen with its pilgrimage church. Now it's off through the forest to Nägelisboden and on across meadows and along the Rouchgrat forest to the Naters triangulation point. The final section leads down to the bus stop "Süderen, Oberei" with wonderful views.

Availability & How to get there

From 27 April to 27 October 2024 exclusively on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as public holidays

Take the train to "Signau" and continue by bus 271 (BLS hiking bus) to "Röthenbach i.E., Chuderhüsi".

Return journey from "Süderen, Oberei" by bus 42 to Thun.

Please note:
Outward and return journey on the Schallenberg line 252 from Thun / Escholzmatt with change to the BLS hiking bus in "Röthenbach i. E., Dorf".

The normal public transport fares apply to the BLS hiking bus.
