Betelberg Lenk Alpine experience
On Betelberg mountain, a variety of different attractions are waiting to be discovered.
The adventure gondola ride is unique: in 12 themed and lovingly decorated gondola cable cars, Mona the cow, Flöckli the goat and Moritz the marmot tell of their daily lives and guarantee plenty of entertainment. On the marmot trail or the lynx trail, children will find a series of fun play stations and can learn about these animals through play. A highlight on the marmot trail is the interactive marmot building. This is located right next to the new reservoir, which is an inviting recreational area to linger and enjoy. There is also a variety of additional activities on offer, such as playgrounds, a downhill scooter trail and other themed trails.
The gondola lift will then take you up to the Betelberg.
Alpine experience
On the Betelberg Alpine experience, you can enjoy the following attractions:
Marmot/Lynx Trail
Marmot Trail
This magical walk is full of fun and a playful experience for all the family. The 3-kilometre route leads from the gondola cableway mountain station to the intermediate station at Stoss. Two barbecue spots are equipped with a grill and with wood. The three-section ticket (1st section: Lenk valley station – Stoos middle station / 2nd section: Stoos middle station – Betelberg mountain station / 3rd section: Stoos middle station – Lenk valley station) is the ideal cable-car ticket.
Lynx Trail
On this 4-kilometre-long walk, you can observe, experience and play as you learn many interesting facts about the behaviour and lifestyle of the lynx. A barbecue spot on the route is equipped with a grill and with wood.
Leiterli storage lake
Only about a 10-minute walk from the Leiterli mountain station is the Leiterli storage lake. The new picnic areas with barbecue invite parents to linger while the children discover the world of the marmots in the Murmeli-Bau or let off steam in the paddling pool in warm weather.
Alpine circular trail with Alpine piano
Different and original: an approximately 45-minute-long easy circular walk, offering fantastic mountain views and twelve information and experience points that explain Alpine culture and the history of the Lenk area. The trail starts and finishes near the mountain station of the gondola cableway.
A crazy idea? Definitely! The Leiterli ski lift, located right next to the Betelberg gondola mountain station, has been transformed into an interactive Alpine piano. Simply hit the keys to produce different tunes. The ski-lift, which carries the skiers and snowboarders up to the slopes in winter, thus becomes a magical musical instrument in summer.
Alpine circular trail Leiterli
Alpine flower trail
The original Betelberg Alpine flower trail is situated at an altitude of 2,000 metres above sea level and starts at the Leiterli mountain station. Visitors can identify the unusually wide variety of flora with the help of 95 panels along the route. Unless weather conditions are very severe, the Alpine flower trail is open from July to September, with up to 70 flower species in bloom during July and August.
Alpine descent on a scooter bike
The 9-km downhill scooter trail takes you along gravelled sections and asphalted roads and leads you back to the village via Pöschenried. The start of the downhill scooter trail is at the Leiterli mountain station, and ends at the valley station of the Betelberg gondola lift. The scooter bikes are ultra-modern with disc brakes and suspension. All outdoor fans aged 12 and over (minimum height 125cm) accompanied by an adult can ride a scooter on the Betelberg (the minimum age for riding a scooter alone is 16).
Gondola cableway adventure
Travelling in one of the twelve decoratively themed gondolas, your trip is guaranteed to be full of fun. Mona the cow, Flöckli the goat and Moritz the marmot will tell entertaining stories of their life on the Alpine meadow. During the ride up to Leiterli, you’ll learn a lot of new fascinating and amusing facts about the three animals.
For French-speaking guests, all of the texts are translated into French on the themed gondola cars. This attraction may involve waiting times.
Alpine play area, Leiterli
Play on an Alpine telephone instead of an iPhone! The Alpine play area near the Leiterli mountain station offers all the fun that young visitors could hope for, including little wooden chalets, climbing frames, mesh swings, jumping mats and a slide. What’s more, little ones can communicate from one wooden chalet to the next by Alpine telephone. Meanwhile, their parents can relax as they watch them from the sun terrace of the mountain restaurant.
